Copyright & Takedown Policy
1. Ownership
All content on Road English — lesson text, dialogue, exercises, scenarios, vocabulary, audio, images, layout, design, code, and the Road English name and logo — is © 2026 Dextrata Software Inc. or its licensors, and is protected by the Canadian Copyright Act, the United States Copyright Act, the Berne Convention, and other applicable laws. All rights are reserved.
2. What your enrollment permits
Enrollment grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and study the course for your own learning during your enrollment term. You may read it, listen to it, and take your own notes.
3. What it does not permit
You may not, and may not help anyone else to:
- copy, download in bulk, mirror, archive, record, or screen-capture the course for distribution;
- republish, post, sell, rent, lend, sublicense, or share the content, in whole or in part;
- share your account, credentials, or access with any other person;
- use the content to teach, train, or deliver instruction to third parties, whether paid or unpaid, without a written licence from us;
- use the content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, benchmark, or ground any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence model, dataset, or system, including by text or data mining. We expressly reserve our rights under Article 4(3) of EU Directive 2019/790 and opt out of any text-and-data-mining exception in every jurisdiction that permits such reservation;
- scrape, crawl, spider, or use automated means to access or extract the content;
- remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notice;
- create derivative works, adaptations, or translations of the content.
Section 9 of the Terms of Use adds page-level restrictions on course and lesson pages — including copying, printing, saving, and taking screenshots or screen recordings — which apply in addition to this list.
Fleet, carrier, school, and multi-driver licensing is available. Email us rather than sharing an account — sharing is a breach of the Terms of Use and results in termination without refund.
4. Trademarks
"Road English" and the Road English logo are trademarks of Dextrata Software Inc. Any other name or mark appearing on the Service is the property of its respective owner, is used for identification or language-teaching purposes only, and its appearance implies no affiliation or endorsement.
5. Reporting infringement to us
We respect the rights of others. If you believe material on Road English infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent, Dextrata Software Inc.
Email: [email protected]
Subject line: Copyright Notice
Postal address for service: available on request to the address above.
Road English hosts no user-uploaded material: every page of the course is written and published by us, so there is nothing here stored at the direction of a user. We nonetheless accept and act on notices at the address above, and we will provide a postal address for formal service on request.
To be effective under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. section 512(c)(3)) and to let us act quickly, your notice must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (a full URL).
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
We will investigate and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a takedown notice can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees, under 17 U.S.C. section 512(f).
6. Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing: your signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and telephone number; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the district of your address (or, if outside the United States, of any district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the complaining party.
7. Canadian notice-and-notice
As a Canadian provider, we also comply with the notice-and-notice regime in sections 41.25 to 41.27 of the Copyright Act. A compliant notice will be forwarded to the relevant account holder. A notice that contains a settlement demand, a payment request, or a request for personal information does not comply with the Act and will not be forwarded.
8. Repeat infringers
We terminate, without refund, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright, and we may terminate on a single serious infringement.
9. Enforcement of our own rights
We monitor for unauthorized redistribution of the course. Where we find it, we pursue takedown with the host, the platform, and the payment provider, and we reserve every remedy available to us, including statutory damages, injunctive relief, and recovery of legal costs, in any jurisdiction where relief is available.
